AI - You Should Know
We have heard from many of you loud and clear. You’ve told us that you enjoy this newsletter better than any other that deals with AI and want to increase the frequency. So we will see if we can start a regular newsletter every two weeks. We don’t have a stable of writers putting together this newsletter - just me - so far.
We will also hunt for some of the best AI opportunities and share them with you. We keep hearing that AI is coming for our jobs. Don’t be scared—be prepared. Start a business using AI or enhance your current business with AI.
We hope you enjoyed our webinar and were amazed by all the great things AI can already do. Imagine what it will be able to do in a year. On the webinar, we screwed up the draw, and not everyone’s names were in there. We will still honor the winner we drew there.
BUT we decided since we screwed up, we would own up to it, do another draw, Record It for you to see, and award a second $25 Amazon Gift Card. See the winner below.
Cheers,
Allan

AI Scam Warning
Be Careful Out There - AI Sparks 118% Surge in Job Scams in 2023
Generative artificial intelligence contributed to a significant 118% rise in job scams in 2023, as stated in the Identity Theft Resource Center's 2023 Trends in Identity Report released on June 26. These scams were predominantly executed through platforms like LinkedIn and job search websites. The enhancements in generating human-like text and mimicking voices and faces have empowered cybercriminals to increase their attacks and deceive individuals and businesses through behavioral-driven schemes.
Despite an overall 18% decrease in scam reports that year, job scams surged, presenting a major concern as criminals increasingly use sophisticated tactics to obtain sensitive personal information from unsuspecting victims through fake job postings and Google Voice scams. No data yet on how we are faring in 2024.

AI Video of the Week
As we’ve mentioned before, when we post these videos for you, watch them to learn, get inspired, and hopefully find a way to take action. Almost everyone who makes a YouTube video has something to sell. Be smart! If you’re looking for an easy way, you might buy their course. But trust me, there is no easy money. Instead, there are lots of ways to research, and you can start with ChatGPT.

💡 Sound Smarter: This Week’s AI Term Everyone Should Know
Bias: Assumptions baked into AI models, often unintentionally, that can lead to unfair or discriminatory outcomes. It’s like a faulty scale always tipping slightly to one side, skewing the results.
Bonus Term
Chain of Thought: A proposed way for AI models to explain their reasoning process by showing a sequence of intermediate conclusions leading to the final decision, like tracing the steps in a mathematical proof.
